〈 CHARACTER INFO 〉
CHARACTER NAME: Axel Walker
CHARACTER AGE: Axel is never given a canon age but given he's pretty young by all accounts compared to the others, I'd say around 21.
CANON ORIGIN: The Flash dc comics
CHRONOLOGY: Post Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge
CLASS: Villain. A really tryhard villain that sort of fails at villainy? Villain works.
HOUSING: Randomise it but in Heropa, possible near 20, because he would very much like to be near the rogues. Don't make him live in a dumpster with the other trash.

Axel Walker is from the wonderful world of DC comics, where continuity is rarely a thing but pretty much anything is possible. Especially if you're Batman. The universe is very diverse and complex with the standard formula of heroes v. villains and all manner of team ups, crossovers and multiverses. There's threats from everywhere, from space to alternate realities to just the general rogue gallery most heroes have.

Well, Axel is by no means in the elites of villains. In fact, he's rarely noteworthy but hey, he's done things that I will expand on here and there are some links above for further details.

Technically, Axel is a legacy villain, given he's not an original creation of his own but unlike most legacy villains, he wasn't so much passed the mantel or approved for the role so much as he broke into where James Jesse stored all his trickster gear and stole it, deciding that he was going to be the new Trickster. Which isn't really the best way to win any points with anyone, especially not the original trickster. Not much is known about Axel before then other than the fact he's a spoilt rich kid whose background is not like any of the rogues, who tend to be more blue collar and less privileged.

He rolled with Blacksmith's network for a while and worked as a bodyguard for Penguin but when that fell through after Blacksmith's defeat, he was invited to join the new rogues by Captain Cold. The creation of the new rogues and what they were doing pretty much triggered what was known as Rogue War, where the reformed rogues tried to put a stop to what Cold was doing. That led to the confrontation with James Jesse which ended about as you'd expect. Given that James had experience and wasn't just some punk kid just dicking around for laughs, Axel got his ass handed to him in an admittedly short showdown when he got tossed in a dumpster with all the other trash. He was told to never use the title of the Trickster again.

Whoops.

Axel completely ignored this and, probably aided by the events of Final Countdown and the unfortunate fate of James Jesse, he pretty much kept trucking under the name Trickster and didn't really give too many fucks about using it. Mostly because James Jesse wasn't loitering around to slam dunk him back into the dumpster.

It wasn't until after the murder of Bart Allen that Axel really came back into things. With the Rogues determined to get revenge on Inertia for setting them up, Axel was baffled as to why it was even an accident in the first place because he really never did get the rules like everyone else did. It takes Cold threatening him for Axel to finally realise this isn't a game and the rogues are pissed. He tags along to get revenge and struggles all the way through trying to understand just what it means to be a Rogue. To a degree, this was Axel's first real attempt to properly understand what's going on instead of just going along for the ride so he can be like one of the guys.

After taking down the 'new' Rogues and putting them down for good, Axel expresses confusion as to what the rules are and tries to make sense of them as he goes along, asking the others for advise. Mirror Master explains to Axel that anyone can be a pretender but if Axel wants to be a rogue, he has to earn it. He has to show Cold not why he wants to be here but why he needs to be here.

Axel helps to kill Inertia with the Rogues so they can have their revenge and instead of running like they originally planned to do, Cold insists the game is back. He's very almost a rogue at this point. No one has actively kicked him out yet so that's as good as being one, right?

PERSONALITY:

Have you ever seen one of those kids with their trousers so low down you want to yank them up and their hair has too much gel and they walk with a swagger like they own the earth and are the baddest motherfucker to ever walk the streets? Well, Axel Walker is that level of tryhard. He thinks he's an edgy hardcore villain when in reality, he's just a rich kid who stole a bunch of tech from another person and is trying very hard to find his place in the world. His awful and entirely undeserved place in the world.

And he's under the impression he belongs with the rogues. Which he kind of doesn't, not really. He hasn't earned it and he doesn't really try to earn it. Like with most things, he just expects it because he wants it, he has no concept of trying for it. He stole James Jesse's stuff and repurposed it for himself and assumed that'd be enough to be part of the rogues. Spoiler alert: It wasn't. Axel is not the most apt at pretty much anything. Ever. He has no patience for heists, no self-control and is more interested in being destructive and chaotic than professional and a worthy part of the team. He doesn't play his role when asked to, he doesn't do what he's told to do and he is generally bad at everything he tries to be good at. Except fucking up. He's really, really good at making a massive mess.

Then getting punched in the face by Captain Cold.

He claims to have no conscience or empathy and it's probably unlikely, it's more likely that he's so apathetic and detached from reality that he just deludes himself into thinking he doesn't have any. He's been known to try and use his t-bombs on animals and shows a lack of real remorse at killing but a lot of it is a front so he can roll with the big boys and fit in alongside the rogues, who ironically have a no killing rule and tend to find Axel out of control. He never understands the true gravity of situations, seeming over-joyed that they killed Bart Allen and 'won' when there was never anything to be gained from killing a speedster. Where others see it as a game to keep the score, Axel sees it as a very black and white sort of old comic book hero and villain type thing.

He does get upset when he's dismissed and shoved aside, he really does want to be one of them and belong somewhere, he wants them to love him but hell, he'll take negative attention too. Whatever attention he can get. Above all else, Axel wants to be part of the team, he wants to fit in even if he doesn't have what it takes, even if he's just riding on an undeserved legacy stolen from James Jesse. There's no denying that Axel would do anything for the rogues, it's just unlikely they'd do anything for him.

As Cold as claimed before, Axel has never really had any struggles. Unlike his team-mates, he's never really had to fight for anything in his life and he's just a spoilt brat who didn't get enough attention from his parents and craves it from everyone else around him, especially the rogues. He has said before that he views them as father figures, which is generally an awful and stupid way to look at them because they basically see Axel as an annoying pest that can be semi useful when absolutely need be.

He embodies a lot of tropes of your typical nineties punk kid, he uses badly written because most comic writers aren't that hip 'street' lingo and seems to think of himself as some kind of street smart tough guy. Which he really is not. He has the attitude of not caring and when things really start to go down and things get hard, his whole front starts to crumble and he finds himself looking like a pathetic child next to all these hardened and experienced villains. He has no real attention span, spending more time playing on his Gameboy, texting or listening to his music than focusing on what he's supposed to be doing, it's rare he's seen without his headphones in and he's never looking up or paying attention, his head is always in something else.

Axel has an obnoxious and generally unappealing personality, he's not really much of anything but he really, really thinks he is and will do everything he can to convince you of this. He has no respect, no real grasp on what he's doing, entirely out of his depths and just expects to be given what he wants in life without really trying hard. Effort is for suckers, after all. Axel really isn't the sort of person anyone sane wants to hang out with.

There's a reason James Jesse threw him in the dumpster. He is literal human trash.

POWER: Because Axel Walker is an eternal rip-off of James Jesse, you may find this powers kind of familiar.

Spontaneous candy generation: Punch him and candy appears! Like a piñata. But like a cheap piñata because Axel is always a disappointment and therefore, you can't have good candy. Think tootsie rolls or a marathon bar. And all fun sized so you don't really get much of anything.

Endless toy pockets: Exactly what it says. Not great toys, the kind of toys you buy last minute for a kid you're vaguely related to from a drug store or a petrol station. Like non-brand actions figures without facial details or a plastic ball.

Levitation: Much like his airshoes, he can levitate without them now. Only to get off the floor and not really on par with flight. They're not that good.

YO! Oh man, oh man, this place is the bomb. Seriously. The net is off the hook here, I can sign in and still use my phone and it's way, way quieter. It's not screeching all up in my ears. Dude, it's sick.

[Everything about this place is getting cooler and cooler. Check it, he's even on video. VIDEO. And he doesn't even have to use a camcorder. That is just insanely badass. He grins into the screen and yes, he is God's gift to this earth, thank you all for noticing.]

I gotta give this place mad props right here. For all the bullshit I gotta deal with, there are some sweet perks to this place. All this tech is so jacked up, I don't even know where to start. And I don't even need batteries.

[Gone are the days of lugging around endless packs of batteries just to play his gameboy. Now there's games online and they have way cooler graphics. Shooting games even have proper blood, no more vague red pixels for this guy.]

So, like, the net is free, right? Cause I know all good things come at a cost and I just want you guys to know, I'm never going to foot the bill.

FINAL NOTES: Axel's powers are roughly a reverse of James Jesse's powers but the player was cool with it so basically, forever ripping off James Jesse. As you do. I followed Axel's continuity the best I could and I left off anything not directly Flash related or considered a passing appearance at best but if you want details on any of those, hit me up and I will add them.
